To enable the photographer to quickly capture different subjects, several photos can be taken successively at intervals of just 0.26 seconds. What's more, the camera is fitted with an extremely high-speed auto-focus function, which takes just 0.15 seconds to find the focal point and bring it into focus, meaning you need never miss a beautiful, exciting or unique moment ever again.

EXILIM Engine HS 3

The EX-ZR1000 employs a newly developed system for CASIO’s EXILIM Engine HS, which consists of a reconfigurable processor and a vector graphics core. The vector graphics core smoothly produces two-dimensional images, while the reconfigurable processor combines high-performance functions and high-speed processing via a dual-CPU, two parallel image processors and various other new technologies. These improvements deliver best-ever high-speed shooting capability, including 0.99-second¹ start-up time, 0.15-second² high-speed auto focus, and as little as 0.26-second³ shooting between frames. The camera also boasts a high-quality GUI. The display is very easy to view, making for intuitive operation.

Premium Auto Pro

With the EXILIM EX-ZR1000, you can easily capture impressive photos in any situation thanks to Premium Auto Pro. In this mode, the camera automatically detects typical subject scenarios and selects the best settings automatically. In addition to face detection, make-up/landscape mode, night scene and back light, the Premium Auto Pro mode can also activate high-speed BEST SHOT programmes, such as high-speed night scene (with portrait), high-speed anti shake and the HDR function. This ensures that movements, shaking, back light, details and people's faces are automatically detected and perfectly focused and exposed. So there's no need to decide which BEST SHOT mode is most suitable for the situation; you can just focus your full attention on your subject, resulting in outstanding photos. And it's easy to access Premium Auto Pro — the feature can be selected quickly and easily using the function ring.

HS Night Shot

Want to shoot a bright subject in low light? For this subject situation, the EX-ZR1000 offers the HS Night Shot function. The camera merges High-speed Continous Shooting images of the subject that in reality appear dark. The result are photos with and ISO equivalent up to 25.600 - even without a flash.

24 mm wide-angle lens

The combination of 24 mm wide-angle lens* and 12.5x optical zoom makes the EX-ZR1000 the perfect companion for every occasion, providing great scope to capture your loved ones, the most beautiful sights or a romantic sunset. With the 24 mm focal length, you can capture a larger area and, for example, include more friends in a group photo at a shorter distance, or photograph a complete landscape or skyline.

12.5x optical zoom with mechanical image stabiliser

Multi Frame SR Zoom

The 12.5x optical zoom allows for shots that are extremely accurate in every detail. By using the Multi Frame SR Zoom, which combines multiple shots into a single sharp, clear photo, the zoom area can be doubled once again. This means the 12.5x optical zoom is converted to a 25x zoom with virtually optical zoom quality. So you won't miss out on a single detail!

Function ring and control dial for intuitive and quick operation

CASIO has remodeled the EX-ZR1000 with a new graphic user interface and synchronized hardware to enable more intuitive operation. Users can operate a Step Zoom with nine settings in addition to the regular zoom by rotating the function ring mounted around the lens. This lets users take successive shots by pressing the shutter with the right hand while zooming in and out with the left hand. The function ring also allows users to set the exposure value (EV) shift, shutter speed, manual focus, and white balance. In addition, the control dial mounted next to the LCD is synchronized with all settings shown in the display, enabling users to quickly change settings while looking at the LCD.

HDR ART function

Users can create artistic photos using CASIO’s HDR-ART function, which combines continuous shots with differing exposures while performing advanced analysis to locally change the intensity of contrast and color saturation. Users can now choose from a total of five different processing levels of art effects to enjoy creating more freely expressive images, as two more levels have been added to the three previously available. These two new effect levels employ state-of-the-art advanced tone mapping technology to produce impressive tonal gradation for more dynamic photos. Additionally, ART Shot offers eight different filters for creating the artistic photos of the user’s preference: toy camera, soft focus, light tone, pop art, sepia, monochrome, miniature and fisheye. Users can change the color and processing levels of each filter, and can view the effect on the display and adjust the result prior to actually taking a picture. Even better, all of these filters can be used for shooting movies, too.

Full HD videos and HDMI connection

Film your videos in full High Definition quality*! Thanks to the EX-ZR1000, you are now able to capture brilliant videos in full HD (H.264) with a resolution of up to 1920x1080 pixels, 12.5x optical zoom and stereo sound. And what's more, while recording films you can continue to take photos with the High-speed Continuous Shooting feature, using the Still In Movie function. The EX-ZR1000 also features a mini HDMI output socket and can be connected to an HD-compatible TV using a HDMI cable (ordered separately) — allowing you to view the videos on a large screen whenever it suits you.

Mode dial for rapid access to shooting modes

The EX-ZR1000 is fitted with a mode dial that lets users quickly choose from 10 shooting modes, including Premium AUTO PRO, ART (which combines the HDR ART and ART Shot functions), and a Custom mode that allows the user to save favorite function settings.

Wide shot function

When it comes to selecting subjects, the EX-ZR1000 knows no limits: 14 and 18 mm super-wide angle settings are available in addition to the 24 mm wide-angle lens. Using the high-speed continuous shutter, the camera combines several individual images taken in a swivelling motion to form an impressive super-wide angle image.

All-In-Focus Macro

The EX-ZR1000 comes with All-In-Focus Macro, which selects only in-focus areas from continuously shot images at different focus settings to produce a composite image. This achieves photos with every area coming out in focus, from foreground subjects to far-away backgrounds, which are hard to produce using a conventional camera. Also, CASIO has employed its high-speed continuous shoot technologies to create Blurred Background, an original technique for processing the background scene of a shot like the soft blur effect attainable using a single-less reflex camera, thereby accentuating the subject of the photo. Users can select from three different processing levels of blur effects to set the background focus just as they wish.

HDR technology

Press the shutter release button, and the HDR function creates multiple shots with different lighting, and combines these into a brilliant single photo with high contrast depth. With this function, both light and dark surfaces are evenly accentuated, whereas areas that are too bright or too dark are attenuated.
