FACE DETECTION FUNCTION

Whether you're on holiday, at a party or spending time with your family, people are particularly popular subjects for a photo. It's a shame if faces turn out blurred. The face detection function recognises individual faces or entire groups and automatically calculates the optimum setting for focus and exposure.

JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS

Select a recording mode.

Press

once.

Select " Detection: Normal" using the

and

. Then press [SET].

Point the camera at your subject. The camera captures the faces of the people in the picture. Once recognition is complete, the captured faces are displayed in the image within the frame.

Press the release button down halfway — the focus frame around the focussed image of the faces becomes green.

When you are ready to take the picture, press the release button down fully. The camera adjusts your setting so that the framed faces are adequately bright.

If "

Track" is selected for the AF area while the release button is half-pressed to carry out recognition, the focus frame tracks the movement of the face.
